What does this Death Star graphic mean?

I've seen this graphic my whole life right after Tarkin says to fire at the rebel base. The graphic changes briefly from an image of the Moon to this one I attached. I originally thought that it indicated potential trajectories of pieces of the moon after it exploded but upon closer inspection when DVD came out there seems to be obvious symbols and different lines that don't in any way look like explosion patterns. Anyone have any idea what the lines and symbols on this are meant to represent? Thank you very much!

I think this graphic represents the different systems on the death star. Not the target itself.

That is an interesting point of view! I never considered that the round symbol in the middle might indicate the Death Star and not the target. Now there is a new very similar graphic in Rogue one with distinctly different objects seeming to radiate from that circle in the centre. Above that is translated from Star Wars language and it reads "Jedha".

This appears to be some important part of the firing sequence I just can't really identify what the angled lines could mean to the people standing and looking at the screen.
