Yeah...and the movies could actually be all computer animation. Seriously, it's obvious the technology is capable of it today. It would greatly reduce the cost of future SW films.

Yeah I know. I mean if Star Trek can be a series why not Star Wars? Or perhaps it would cheapen it?

IMO Star Trek has become so diluted it is now utterly without merit. The Original Series was great, the earlier films (particularly TWOK) were fantastic, TNG was great, some of DS9 was great... but Voyager and Enterprise (shudder) are nothing.
Making a Star Wars series would be a huge mistake. Thank the Maker that Lucas agrees.
