Except, of coarse, the way Padme gives hologram plan instructions in TPM the exact same way Mon does in RotJ. So, there is something that supports my theory. rupert

Yes, but how did she die? Leia remembers her, so she lived for a little while at least. She was young and was on a technologically developed planet, so disease isn't real likely. Was she murdered? Did she get run over by a pod racer? Did she leave (Leia could have easily been lied to, look at poor Luke)? Yes, I know it's 99.5% likely that she died when Leia was a small child. But how did she die?

She died of a broken heart. In more techical terms she laps into sever depression and lost the will to live. It's very rare, but, you can die of depression.
