Will Hayden Christensen befall the same fate as Mark Hamill ???

Hayden seems to be following the same footsteps of Hamill.....both unknown actors before Star Wars, mediocre acting ability, somewhat average looks, and doomed to be typecast as 'that Jedi dude'.

What do you all think? I hope he has a good movie career, but I wouldnt be surprised to see him pushing Windows tutorials on some late night infomercial in a few years.....

Hamill's car accident more or less killed his appeal to shallow young girls, which is embarassingly a very powerful factor in keeping young stars in business while they attempt to establish themselves.

I don't see the same thing happening to Hayden, and I don't see him as being thought of as only Anakin Skywalker as Hamill is always thought of as Luke.

Seeing his acting in AOTC makes me think Hayden is going to be doing commercials for 'Orange Clean' and the Psychic Friends Network...

Then again, the characters in the new trilogy are so lame, comparatively, that people are gonna gloss over any reference to them. I mean really, the only character that carries the same recognition that Hamill as Luke does is frigging meesa meesa Jar Jar Binks...

What car accident?

He was in a serious accident in 1977, right before ANH premiered, and had to have reconstructive surgery on his face, leaving scars - you can particularly see the difference in his nose.

Mark Hamill during the shooting of Star Wars crashed his sportscar. He wasn't wearing a seat belt and he went straight thru the front window. He sustained bad facial scars. They had to even use a double for him in some of the left over desert scenes in ANH.

To 'explain' the scars, Lucas 'arranged' for Mark's character, Luke, to be wacked by a snow beast in ESB.

They're both gonna end up like Bob Denver ('Gilligan', doing fan conventions when they're sixty and appearing in 'Simpsons' episodes ...

Umm I don't remember Mark Hamill getting any golden globe nominations do you?

Hayden did a good job in 'Life as a House' opposite Kevin Kline, after acting in EP2.

I saw Life as a House at its premire at the Toronto Film Festival (entire cast in attendance). As the audience (composed mostly of film buffs) left after the film, every one was talking about Hayden Christensen and how great his performance was. There were also many people (not film buffs, I guess) who were saying 'Oh my God! Who is that actor?' I also recall talk in the media of him getting an Oscar nomination if the film had been more high profile.

Then again, Mark Hamill got some great reviews on Broadway and for the film The Big Red One, and that didn't seem to help...

My favourite Cristensen moment was when he was part of a panel discussion with the rest of the cast. Once the discussion was over, all the reporters and photographers jumped up and swarmed his area of the table. He looked really scared and jumped back several inches!

He could do a lot worse...
