Fuggit. Who really cares why she married him when the real reason is because Luke and Leia had to come from *somewhere*.

What I want to know is how come Padme, who is a Senator, not of a country, not of a planet but of an entire galaxy, packs her own suitcases? In one scene she talks to Annakin while throwing clothes into what looks like a Samsonite case. She looks like a sales assistant heading off for a skiing weekend. Don't Galactic Senators who are ex-Queens have servants for this kind of stuff?
