One thing that just crossed my mind, was that AOTC is so much different in many ways. In all the other movies, you got to see it from the villains's point of view throughout the entire movie. In AOTC we only got this privilege at the end, and not much at that. It has always been a tradition that the storyline is scattered at the end, meaning that we see the different people doing different things at the same time.

In ROTJ for instance, we had 3 POV's: Luke fighting Vader, the Battle of Endor and the Ewok battle. And everyone was at their lowest at the same time. Luke was almost converted by the Emperor, the Rebels were captured at Endor and the Rebels were about to lose in the space battle, before it turned for the better. In TPM we saw the same thing, only from 4 POV's. And once again, everybody was at the lowest at the same time. The Gungans were losing, Qui Gon was killed, the Queen was captured and Anakin was about to be killed. In ANH and TESB we also experienced this, this time from 2 POV's: The confrontation with Vader AND the escape of Leia and Lando in TESB, and the battle of Yavin AND the perspective of Tarkin on the Death Star.

But in AOTC, we only see it from one POV, because everyone is in the same place at the same time. Do you think this is a good thing or a bad thing? Would you prefer it if the movie had the same layout as the other movies? Is AOTC better or worse than TPM because if this?

Go ahead 'The Executor', make my day...

An interesting observation. There's quite a lot that's different about AOTC beginning with the opening shot that goes up instead of down. I think the differences are a good thing and I'm glad that Lucas has opted for a little variety. In answer to your last question I think it's better than TPM because of this. It can be tiring trying to keep track of various battles and in TPM I just wanted to stay with the lightsabre duel and forget the rest, even though they're as important to the story.

[snip]

I noticed this too and thought it was brilliant! Because this way we do see it from two POVs within the 'good guys' - since Anakin is not as good a guy as the rest wants to be... I think the movie already switches a lot from Obi-Wan to Anakin and then to Coruscant. Switching to the baddies as well would be a bit much IMHO.
