OK, I always had trouble getting the timing right in ESB. There are basically two story plots after Hoth: Luke/Yoda and Han and the others. If one assumes they are both happening together at the same time, because they started together then ended together, there is no way Yoda could have had enough time to train Luke as a Jedi. The chase of the M. Falcon and the Cloud City could not have taken more than a few days, weeks at the most. How can Luke become something that it takes others a lifetime to be? And become good enough at it to resist Vader's temptations. Even when adding a few days or weeks with Kenobi in ANH, this still sums up to a few months at the most. Is the force so good with Luke that he can become a Jedi so fast?

Also, he returns to Yoda in ROTJ where he is told 'there is nothing more you can learn from me' even though the last time they met Yoda pleeded with him to stay and finish his training.

Any thoughts?

it took awhile for the Falcon to make it to 'The next system over' without the hyperdrive. so it could have well been 2 months.

Go ahead 'Moataz Emam', make my day...

I would estimate Luke's midichlorian levels to be higher even than Anakin's. Luke was an exceptional Jedi candidate with skills beyond most others but his training was very, very different from any other Padawans. For one thing most Jedi train in a variety of disciplines and spend decades contemplating the very nature of the Force. The only thing Luke trained for was to kill Darth Vader. That's all Yoda wanted him to do and he taguht him what he needed to be able to do that.

I would say that Luke's powerful connection to the force, in addition to his not having as hot a temper as his father, and Yoda's accelerated training, and maybe even physical maturity?...all combined to train Luke a great deal faster than a regular Padawan.

Also, don't forget the timing inbetween ANH & ESB when Luke apparently had taught himself enough to summon his lightsaber in the Wampa cave...and between ESB & ROTJ when Luke again probably taught himself further in addition to constructing himself a new lightsaber.

Anakin's.

I have an idea. Let's pretend that scene didn't appear in TPM.

No it wasn't. That's nuts. Get rid of Vader, the Emperor still exists.
