Hmm. Good things...He worked with Gary Kurtz, hired Katz & Hyuck, and Leigh Brackett to help him write, hired Dyksta for models and model animation, Kirshner to direct the second film, his wife Marcia to edit the movies, Ralph McQuarrie to create all the concept art, which created all the spaceships, Darth Vader's costume and helmet, and the Stormtroopers, and R2 and 3P0.
Bad things..he divorced his wife Marcia, got rid of Gary Kurtz, alienated Dykstra by suing Battlestar Galactica for using him and his 'too like Star Wars' models, made less use of McQarrie's concept art in ROTJ (the making of art was commissioned AFTER the movie was made) and decided that he, Lucas, didn't need writing help anymore.
I think that about covers it. It boils down to 'Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back vs. Return of the Jedi and Phantom Menace' And now Attack of the Clones will add to the list.
