The Magic Of Writing

I am a bookworm. Always have been and probably always will be.
Granted, now I am more of a bookworm in spirit than in actuality - but that is life for you.
I am told that I am a person of vivid imagination which might be true, but not vivid enough to invent and write a whole book (or even story).
Because I love books, I have always wondered about the process of writing a book besides the obvious secluded cabin in the woods where the inspired, if somewhat hermetic and deranged author (only deranged during inspiration of course) frantically captures the ideas spilling from his brain on paper, or stomps around in the middle of a writers block.
O.K. That was probably my vivid imagination again. Jim C. Hines, a real honest to god author, has a little more about the real process of writing here, though I must say I am still not convinced its as normal and mundane as he describes it.

You know the saying about being a fly on the wall? I would love to be “a fly on the wall” but on the inside of an authors head to watch a book unfold, and it worlds and characters coming to life.
