.. you guys start to see what an underwhelming film AOTC was? I mean, I went to see it and came out of the theater feeling fine.. feeling like I had gotten more than my money's worth. But as the days go by I've reflected on it and I gotta say this movie is friggin silly shit!. I mean it's got the goodies you want like sabers and Yoda but it fails to connect with you emotionally like even ROTJ managed to do. This is simply an ok film with lots of pretty effects but it's really not up to par as a film that stick to your ribs. Obviously you guys have alot at stake in defending it as to not love it is to admit a sort of defeat. How long did it take before most of you admitted TPM was not up to snuff? BTW I'd like to get AOTC on DVD when it's released just to watch Yoda fight and a handful of cool scenes, but this film is not worthy of the SW name.

I think it's a good movie, but, yes, it wasn't quite as good as the OT. Still, even the OT was unpretentious.

Well, I actually think they are all good. It is hard to explain, but they are all equal in my book. If I had a favorite, it would either be AOTC or ROTJ, but I don't look at it like that. I see it as one long movie that goes from Episode I to Episode VI, and each tells a part of the tale.

Obviously you
Most movies fall into this category. Especially comedies. There's one or two really funny moments. But no more. And 5 minutes after walking out the theatre, it's forgotten. My friends who think of SW movies in this way, had a great time at AOTC. They also would never see the movie more than once.

....but it fails to connect with you emotionally like
Anyone who thinks RotJ was emotionally charged has an opinion that... just doesn't matter.

That's asinine. ROTJ was clearly the weakest of the three movies, but the scenes with Vader and Luke after his capture were VERY well done, and the confrontation between the Emperor, Luke, and Vader WAS very emotionally charged. I also thought the Vader funeral pyre was well done. The movie woke up with about 40 minutes left...
The rest of the movie was kinda fluff though...

Agreed. And I actually found AOTC gets better with multiple viewings.
