OK, the question is a heresy ... Star Wars is one of the greatest films of all time, and you just don't go remaking TGFOAT. Like The Godfather, or The Sound of Music, or Ferris Bueller's Day Off

But, hear me on this ...

It has been mentioned around the scene that the sabre duelling in the Prequels makes the sabre duelling in the Original Trilogy look a little lame. Any number of spaceship scenes, both exterior and interior shots (I am thinking of the Slave I cockpit shots in ATOC), make the Millenium Falcon cockpit scenes of the first two movies look pretty wooden. A number of small things are creeping into the story which have caused people to question the continuity of the plot (the droids' pre-knowledge of Tatooine, Obi-Wan's preknowledge of the Death Star, the OT absence from the Jedi Astral Plane of Qui-Gon Jinn).

After the Prequel Trilogy is done and done, some years from now (more than ten, probably), George will decide that the plot-tweaking he did has made necessary a re-rendering of Episodes IV-VI. We won't have Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Alec Guinness, but we will have the technology to put their images into revised scenes. In short, the OT could be remade to mesh more neatly with the story arc from Episodes I-III. Older fans will no doubt be outraged, but a whole new generation of kids and teenagers will love it.

How about remaking it totally with new actors?

I want:

No ewoks. More Space action. More 'from the imperial pov' scenes in ANH. The Imperial march has to be in ANH. Better Lightsabre duels. I want to know what Boba is up to in ANH. The Stormies have to be better aimers. No ewoks. NO EWOKS¤'%/#/¤%¤

None of the Jedi saw the plans for the Death Star in ATOC, so how would Obi-Wan know about it?

yeah, the good good films are far too entertaining when compared with the new ones. we should destroy all film and video evidence that the OT ever existed and make 6 more hours of computer generated garbage, with cool sword fights.

better still, why not just kill the original George Lucas, and have him replaced with a clone cultivated from his spleen tissue with genetically improved banality and cliche midochlorians and give him a few more thousand tons of cash and a room full of computer programmer monkeys.

Here's the deal as I see it: After the effective and reasonable 'touch-ups' that were made to the OT, George has really caught bluescreen fever on the new films.

Realising the obvious clash of style and appearance between them, he will then overload the OT with yet more computer 'wizardry', and then finally release the whole six 'Super special edition' episodes on DVD in one box set for sixty squillion dollars a shot.

I dunno how great that sounds. He pretty messed up the SE version of Star Wars with all the unnnecessary add-ons- ie the alien's first shot at Solo at the bar and the corny meeting with the X-wing squardron leader. 'I fought with your dad in the clone wars' 'I'm sure you'll fight as great as him too' 'Really, well thats swell. Gosh darn it.'

It is my assumption that the Death Star project becomes known amongst the political leadership of the galaxy - both Palpatine's allies and his opposition - in the next Episode. Certainly, in the interregnum between Episodes III and IV, the Alliance knows enough about it that they take great risks to steal the plans. Obi-Wan was not involved in that, of course, being in hiding on Tatooine, but in Episode III he becomes closely allied with Bail Organa, later the adopted father of Leia, and this puts him in the thick of the action. It is no great leap of logic to assume that Obi-Wan knows what the Dark Side is cooking up, but being one of only two Jedi in the universe he cannot do anything about it and sticks to his job of keeping a middle-distance eye on the young son of

You took the words outta my mouth. I know all you old people like the first thing you saw on the OT. But your going to grow old and die not too soon, and leave us kids to put up with terrible scenes like the Rancor scene. So please think of the children..
