Okay so this doesn't like make any sense to me. CPO is a central character in the movies, right? So then why is it that no one recognizes him!!! Also why doesn't he recognize anyone???? Vader created him for gods sakes!!! What's up with that?

thats absolute shite, it boils down to a major inconsistency in the plot. Why try and explain away something that is CLEARLY a plothole !! Ok, so 20 years MAY have gone by...... The odds of a gold protocol droid AND his little blue Asrtromech friend both being there at the same time, even when 3P0 TELLS Luke, 'I've worked with him ( R2) before blah blah blah' , even someone with a crap memory would still think, ' Hang on a minute, weren't those the same 2 droids that came to my house 20 years ago, same colour, same voice ( for 3P0) same banter between them, I mean COME ON !!!!!

And...They All Look Alike! They are droids, not people.

If you walk into someone's office and see a computer that looks like the one you had before, do you automatically wonder if maybe they are the same? It's a tool, and we can reasonably assume that most ppl in the SW universe view droids the same way. They are tools, and just because one looks and sounds like another doesn't mean it is the other....but it could mean that your experience tells you that it's a good model!

and 20 years have past why would he bee looking out for the droides why would ther apearence make him think oh my god there the two driods one that used to belong to my step mum and was taken by luks dan adn the othere came and stoped with lukes dad and mum all thouse yeares ago. they must be the same F$&king droids.
