My guess is that Count Dooku is Anakins father. (remember Anakin's hand cut off by Dooku just as Luke's hand by Annakin?) and in the end of part III anakin will fight his father again with Sidious looking and encouraging him to kill his father. Only this time he does kill him and turns to the dark side. It would rap things up quite nicely. I also believe that Amidala isn't as good as we would think. I've also noticed in part 2 that she seems to stay alive a bit too easy. The way she reacts to evil gestures from Annakin is also a bit strange. There are several events that point into the direction of Amidala being the evil mind of it all in the end.

No way on the Armadillo bit, but a 'yeah I like it'on the Dooku bit... Could explain the whole Schmi thing... I like the idea that her capture and torture... (speculative but born out by wounds and graphic novel picture that was based on script prior to completion of the film...) was organised by Sidious and / or Tyranus. Could it be that 'Everything is going exactly as planned' actually has '...To the N'th degree' inherent in its meaning..?
Amidala isn't as good alive a bit too easy.
