No, Anakin as a Christ figure is more in line with the myths that Star Wars is derived from. Christ figures make for more interesting stories. Always have, always will.

No, he's right, but I think what you are saying is that Christianity ITSELF is not a myth, but the religion is made up of various myths, some original, most of them copied or changed from others. So, yes, while the religion is made up of myths, the religion itself is a very real thing.
