Original books falling apart...

Anyone else have this problem? The original 'Art Of Star Wars/Empire/Return' books are falling apart at the binding. It's like the glue is just giving up on all the pages. These are the flexible cover books...all three.

Anyone know if this can be repaired?

I have the same problem with a Ron Cobb book, bought it for all the great artwork he did for Alien and Conan The Barbarian.

You could try using a Bostick glue gun and try repairing it yourself.

Just goes to show how nothing's made to last anymore except hard cover.

Hey, would you mind sharing where you got those books and the titles? Ever since I was a kid I've been looking for more 'Art Of...' style books for other movies, but just can't find any sources.

The Ron Cobb book I bought many years ago at the Market Street bookstore in Fremantle Western Australia, unfortunately the bookstore doesn't exist anymore. It's called Ron Cobb Colorvision, printed in 1980/81.

I also have a couple of other Alien inspired books, The Book of Alien which I think was reprinted a few years ago so shouldn't be too hard to find, and also the Alien Movie Novel. This one is my favourite as the editor (Richard J Anobile) did frame blow-ups from the actual movie and turned it into a book. These I also got from the Market Street bookstore.

Plus I have Giger's Alien, needless to say full of great HR Giger paintings and designs, I think I bought from Super Nova bookstore, William Street, Perth WA.

I can give you the names of the publishers if that helps?
