<snip stuff about Anakin becoming Vader>

What I'm hoping is that Lucas won't flat out say/show that Anakin becomes Vader in Episode III. It would ruin a good bit of the story for any first time viewers watching the saga in order. Obi-Wan's 'lie' to Luke in ANH, Vader's revelation to Luke in TESB, and the overall mystique of the Vader character. How Lucas could accomplish this, if he does, I have no idea.

In TPM Qui-Gon mentions this prophecy of The Chosen One bringing balance to the Force when he learns of Anakin's midicholorion count and that he allegedly had no father. Apparently immaculate conception is part of this Jedi prophecy.

God, I hope so. I would love to see Palpatine be Anakin's father. And that Qui-Gon was being used from the beginning to go to Tatooine, find Anakin, and eventually place him in the hands of an unwilling teacher (Obi-Wan) where he could be easily manipulated by Palpatine. I would like to think everything that's happened has been a direct result of Palpatine/Sidious. Evil is good

I had to check to see if they were the same actors too. Uncanny resemblence IMO (and yours too).

When Obi-Wan is touring the cloning facilities and they show the clones eating in the mess hall, I too thought it was the Naboo captain guy. I actually thought maybe they got the DNA or whatever from his missing eye =P Guess it's just a coincidence since the clones wouldn't have the distinguishing scars that Jango has.

Go ahead and ruin it.

I want to see Anakin become Vader, and I want to see Obi-Wan and Padme react to that knowledge (I also wanted to see Shmi's reaction but they killed her, dammit.)

The knowledge that the series was written and released in inverted order is hardly going to vanish into the mists of antiquity. If some future viewer insists on watching it the wrong way anyway, screw him.

I can live with political and inter-planetory schemings. But when Q explained the whole idea of the Force as additional blood vessels- the immortal became mortal - the supernatural became natural and what was awe-inspiring became a high school science project.

As for Ana becoming Vader; I can live with that too. Most of the Great Epic stories are about fallen heroes - Shakespeare's Macbeth, Caesar, etc... Homer's heros, Paris Achilles etc.. in Illiad, the tale about the Greek Trojan Wars. But Lucas is no Shakespeare and no Homer.

He himself admited that he was a poor writer and hired other people to do the dialogue for him, ie Empire Strikes Back.

God knows why he chose to do it all his own way this time round. Egotism maybe?

Don't get me wrong. I liked AoTC; I watched it in the first week thanks to a good friend. But seriously, it could have been so much better. All this nonsense about 1930 style of acting is just a means of covering up his failings as a director.

'It's like Lucas writes out this really cool fight scene, then can't think of how to end it, so he just says to heck with it and tacks on a really lame conclusion.'

True, Lucas has no idea on how to write stuff so he has to copy them from past events or movies.

See the Hidden Fortress and the Battle of Midway 1942 and you'll see where Lucas got most of his ideas from.

As Harrison Ford said to Lucas: 'George, you can type this shit, but you sure can't say it.'

But having said all that, he did it and I paid to watch it. No one can get it perfect or great each time around. He at least produced two great movies - SW and ESB and I thank him for that.

And after all it is only science fiction. There aren't many science fiction films with good dialogue, good monsters, good acting and big explosions. Good dialogue is too small for star wars. Star wars has always been about 'wow', 'kerblam' and people getting excited about spaceships and stuff. To complain about dialogue and acting is like complaining about the lack of exploding tie fighters in the godfather. The dialoge in star wars is there to separate and justify the action sequences, the action sequences justify the prewritten-into-a-corner-plot. We all know whats going to happen in ep3 and we don't care. We want to see what we know realised on the screen, ani become vader, yoda and obi end up in their place ready for ep4, 5 and 6... Anyway. went off on a tangent but you get the idea As as dialogue and acting goes I've seen much worse than ep2, mostly in other lucas films. That said, ep2 is a cracking film by anyones standards.
