Another clue to his personality was his offer to Obi-Wan to join his cause. He seemed to know damn well he was wasting his breath which I found fascinating. I like Dooku much better than Darth Maul.

I don't buy that. Dooku showed he was REALLY evil by faking almost everything he did in the movie until he was reunited with his Master.
Making the other characters think 'this' or 'that' and all the while plotting something bigger behind the scenes? Now THAT'S good evil!

A very good point. Many have asked why Dooku didn't know about the Clone Army but they have overlooked one simple part of his character - he lies all the time. Even when he was honest, as he was with Obi-Wan, he's being deceitful by concealing parts of the truth. The only person he was completely honest with was Darth Sidious.

I agree. I think Dooku was underused. I don't agree with those who say Maul was underused - he was just a monster, really. But Dooku was cool, a really worthy apprentice for Sidious while he works on turning Anakin.

He actually had alot more dialogue in the shooting script, and its all been cut out. I'll bet everything from a diddle-eyed Joe to a damned-if-I-know we're going to see some of it on the DVD...
