Dooku tells Obi-Wan that the jedi council and the senate are under the control of the dark side and he wants to fight it. Could it be possible that he is telling the truth?

Perhaps he does not know that Sidious is Palpatine. He thinks Sidious is an ally and his goal is to detroy the evil Palpatine - and the jedi if they stand in the way.

Now you have Palpatine controling both armies and the jedi will fight along side the clones to defeat the 'good guys'. By the time the jedi realize they have been tricked its too late. The Jedi build the Empire.

Would be an interesting turn of events.

Highly unlikely, he uses force lightning which is always of the dark side of the force.

Wel if Sidious is an ally of Dooku, that makes Dooku the bad guy since Sidious is of this Sith.

Sidious is evil too, considering the events in TPM.

Dooku does use the name Lord Tyranis, so unless he is very clue impared he knows he's a Sith.

I think Dooku was tring to bait Obi-Wan to see what he knows. Or, Dooku is already working on a plan to take Sidous's place.

He was telling the truth! It was brilliant, he told the entire truth and Obi-Wan didn't believe him. Obi-Wan asked Mace and Yoda if this could be possible. They stated no, because deceit is the way of the Dark Side. Great way to fool everyone.

He was probably trying to recruit Obi-Wan so they could overthrow Sidious and he could be the Master. I guess that's why only two Sith at a time...but then again that issue was hammered over and over after Episode

The new ending of Return of the Jedi: Special Special Edition:

THE GHOSTS OF OBI-WAN AND DOOKU SITTING ON A LOG IN THE ENDOR FOREST WATCHING THE BURNING REMAINS OF THE DEATH STAR TWINKLE IN THE SKY:

OBI-WAN IN A WHINY VOICE: 'Why did you tell me!? You said a Sith Lord was in control of the Senate.'

DOOKU: 'My master... was seduced by the glorious blaze of politics and power. He ceased to be Darth Sidious and became that overconfident fool Emperor Palpatine. When that happened, the brilliant manipulator that was my master was destroyed. So what I told you WAS a lie... from a certain point of view.'
