Shmi says there was no father. Anakin has an incredible of the force. We know Anakin becomes Darth Vader, second to Palpatine.

Could we have another 'I am your father' scene?

Of all the gin joints in all the world, Ziggy walks into mine

I know, but if there was a father and the 'immaculate conception' was just Shmi being evasive my money would be on Palpatine. I mean even if Palpatine did get Shmi pregnant he hasn't been a father to Anakin so from a certain point of view...

I think Qui-gon was overstepping the mark in asking, seeing as he hardly knows her. 'So Shmi, who've you been putting it about with, you old tart?'

I think Palpatine/Sidious somehow impregnated her without her knowledge (perhaps he detected that she was especially strong in the Force) and has been monitoring the result of this ever since.....including manipulating him into getting fed up with the Jedis and also manipulating him to become involved with Amidala (who he can seem to get to do anything he wants).

All as part of his master plan to create the ultimate Sith Lord to wipe out the Jedi and help him bring about the fall of the republic.

It's possible that Palpatine/Sidious used the dark side of the force to make the midichlorians coalesce into Anakin inside of Shmi.

But how would Palpatine know Shmi even existed? Did he use the dark side force to pick a woman who's living in a difficult situation so her child would grow up angry and resentful? Did Palpatine set up a situation where Shmi was talked into betting on the pod races only to lose and get sold into slavery to Watto, thereby creating a resentful and angry psychological environment for the young Anakin? Maybe Watto knows a helluva lot more than he's been letting on.

It's likely that Palapatine engineered the whole situation from the beginning so Anakin be born, grow up, be psycholocially manipulated both overtly and covertly in order to create a huge imbalance in the force which would lead to the wiping out of the Jedi(except for Obi Wan and Yoda).

This conspiracy against the Jedi converged with a second conspiracy to completely take over the Republic with the help of the manipulated Senate, the Trade Federation, Jango Fett and Dooku creating the engineered wars on Naboo(TPM) and Geonosis(AOTC). Both conspiracies were enginnered by Palpatine/Sidious and were designed so they would converge in a pincer movement against the Jedi from both the left and right flanks like chess pieces surrounding the opponents king and putting the king in a checkmate position.

The imbalance created by Palpatine/Sidious is what's blinding the Jedi Council. They believed that Anakin was going to bring balance but they failed to realize that before you have balance, you must have imbalance. They're the Yin and Yang, Light and Dark, Good and Evil, Order and Chaos of the universe. Out of Chaos Comes Order.

The Jedi Councils vision of a balance to the force really applies to Luke and Leia who will be the offsping of Anakin and Amidala before Anakin's personality completely dies and he becomes Darth Vader in Episode III.

By creating Anakin, Palpatine/Sidious unknowingly sowed the seeds of his own destruction when Vader/Anakin tosses him down the hole in ROTJ.

I'm probably seeing the conspiracy mytharc in the Star Wars prequels because I've watched the X-Files for 9 years.

Palpatine/Sidious = CSM of the Star Wars Universe

therefore

CSM(aka C.G.B. Spender) = Anakin's Daddy

One correction, and I know this is an old threat. Anakin did not have an Immaculate Conception, and neither did Jesus. I don't mean Jesus was not born o a Virgin, I mean the Virgin Birth is not the same as the Immaculate Conception. The Immaculate Conception is a Catholic ( And pretty well only Catholic) Doctrine about how Mary was born without Sin, so she could be the perfect vessel for the Christ. It is not the same as the Virgin Birth.

He means son as in a term of endearment like buddy or pal. But it's pretty obvious that palpatine has the ability to manipulate midiclorians to "create life". Be it sustaining or conceiving with the force. He uses this ability in keeping anakin alive when he finds him on mustafar. Its also implied there was no rather to anakin in episode 1. Palpatine created him out of the force to a slave on a remote world so he wouldn't be found.

No he is not, sometimes he tries to act like he is a father Figure to Anakin because he knows that he is strong in the force and that he can use him to his advantage,

Not very likely. To many variables in that equation. More likely that Anakin is just a very rare phenomenon. It happened once before (or after, the all long time ago....). Shemi doesn't look that strong in the force to get noticed by anyone let alone Palpatine.
He is just a prophecy fulfilled.

I bring you a new theory.

We are told that plagues the wise discovered a path to immortality through the dark side of the force.

We also witness immortality after death through the light side of the force (Qui gon, Yoda, Obi wan etc.)

We never are showed how plagues method worked, what if plagues knew palpetine was going to betray and kill him and plagues simply reincarnated himself into shmi skywalker but could in no way keep his memory or knowledge, simply reborn thus immortality like the belief in eastern religion budism hinduism.

Plagues was Anakin, Palpetine knew this and used him to his advantage, but knew there was a great risk.

read the book or better yet listen to the audiobook of darth plageuis it is pretty much all spelled out Anakin was the result of both damask/plageuis & palpatine/sidious's thought experiments that had been ongoing in the years leading up to anakins birth in 41.9 bby
