Well, a cure for at least part of the droid/Tatooine problem Lucas created. It's a simple method, all in the audio track. Changing Threepio's dialogue is the easiest solution to this because his metal mouth slit has no lips to be out of sync with. Not so for human actors. When our two favorite droids are wandering around the sand dunes, and they each want to go a different direction, here's how Anthony Daniel's new dialogue should go...........................

C-3PO: What makes you think there are settlements that way?

R2: chirps and tweedles

C-3PO: You remember? What are you talking about?

R2: tweedles and chirps

C-3PO: When have you been here before?

R2: bleeps

C-3PO: Is that really? Well, Go ahead! You'll be malfunctioning within a week, you nearsighted scrap pile.

Nothing should be altered. The OT is the basis for the prequels. Not the other way around. What do you expect to happen? New versions made every time there's a question of continuity? That isn't film-making; it's back-pedaling. The films are what they are, and GL should, and will, work with it.

If you're going to give away Ultimate Edition spoilers, at least quote it right!

Here's the accurate version:

Agreed.

And besides, why is it so freaking hard for supposedly intelligent people to get it into their heads that droids have computer brains and those same computer brains can be reprogrammed or erased? Surely anyone accessing an Internet Newsgroup should be computer savvy enough to grasp this simple concept. All the more likely given the time frames involved.

The time between Ep 3 and Ep 4 is something like 20 years; surely in that time C3PO and R2D2 would have been serviced and repaired and possibly reprogrammed numerous times.

What about Uncle Owen not recognizing him. I know it's been a long time but who could forget a gay robot, especially one made by Darth Vader, the most notorious villain in the Galaxy. It could fetch a lot of money. I can imagine after Vader became the Hitler of the galaxy Owen was probably kicking himself, 'Man, why didn't I keep that homo robot that Vader built? That thing could fetch me a lot of money on
