...I noticed that there is not one mention of the Midiclorian stuff in AOTC. Most fans hated the idea of midiclorians to begin with and so I wonder if Lucas came to his senses and realized that it was a terrible idea to try explain the force in scientific terms.
...I also used to think that this midiclorian stuff was gonna be the way the emperor wipes out the jedi?

Does anyone have any idea if Lucas intended the old 'strike me down...' line to be any more than purely metaphorical?
If he didn't, then he accidentally provided himself with material for perhaps the greatest subplot for a movie since the 'Obi-Wan never told you...' episode.

Like Qui-Gon, though, he doesn't disappear immediately upon his death like Obi-Wan and Yoda. Maybe because he was so strong and, ultimately, balanced in the Force, he was able to manifest himself in the same way that presumably Qui-Gon will.
