AOTC Spoilers I guess.
Anyone sick of defending AOTC when someone finds a disparity between it's story and the mass market grocery store paperback Star Wars books? 'Owen is supposed to be Obi Wan's brother!' 'Bobba Fett's origin is all wrong!' 'I thought Tarkin created the Death Star!'
Puh-lease. Lucas has made some pretty bad choices in these movies, but even he isn't insane enough to take some hack's fan fiction and incorporate it into AOTC just so some crappy novels remain accurate.

i think the chatter about tarkin & the death star actually came from anh. i've never read any of the fan fiction things but i always had the impression that tarkin and his goons built the death star.

Well fair enough. Although he still may have been in charge of building it - we merely see the plans in Ep II.
I'm not against nit-picking the movies when compared to each other - but those books?
