I thought I saw a delegation of E.T.s in a TPM scene during the uproar in the Senate after Amidala proposed a vote of no confidence against Supreme Chancellor Valorium.
Anyone else saw it? Any canonical reference?

I think most people saw it, and I doubt it has any meaning... George Lucas included many allusional and satirical references to other films and works in the original Star Wars trilogy, so it doesn't surprise me that ET's species makes an appearance in TPM.
(What does surprise me, however, is that ET's species survived long enough to meet humans on an isolated planet where they had somehow forgotten or lost their contact with the rest of the galaxy. Maybe that's where Douglas Adams's stories come in to play.)

Lorne Vallen had this to say
Yeah, they're there. It's mentioned in the FAQ, GL put them there as a tribute to Spielberg. Something to do with the Yoda mask during Halloween in ET and the fact that ET isn't surprised to see Yoda's face, ie their kind have met before....

The films are the ultimate in canon. Since they are in the films, they exist in the SW universe. No mention in any other canon source, however.

Ovious E.T. is a Jedi Padow who was part of a exploration project by the New Republic. During his time on Earth when he was seperated from the rest of the exploration team he told young George <cough> I mean Elliot about event in his home galaxy.
