Oh well ...
Way back in the mists of time George Lucas came up with a rough storyline for a series of movies (originally a possibility of 12, but soon scaled back to 9).
After making 'Star Wars' (later titled 'Episode IV: A New Hope'

the storyline began to change, and by the time of Episode VI it had been squashed/altered so that the saga ended at that Episode.
There is now only 6 movies in the saga of Anakin Skywalker - from his near-birth (or Jedi birth) in Episode I, via his turn to the dark side in Episodes II and II, and onto his redemption and death in Episode VI.
There is NO George Lucas storyline for any more episodes, which is why the novels/comics have been allowed to take over the timeline after Return of the Jedi (and before The Phantom Menace).
George Lucas has stated he will not make any more episodes. Star Wars is George's baby and he has watched it grow over many years, it is EXTREMELY doubtful he'd let anyone else take it over.
