Episodes VII - IX

Although Lucas isnt going to make them at the moment, does anyone think he will? Or possibly sell the rights to continue the SAGA a further 3 episodes?

There's not a cat in hell's chance of him selling the rights, he is totally opposed to someone else doing it now. He says that he hasn't any ideas for anything after ROTJ and that is the reason he won't do a sequel trilogy. I think he's unlikely to do them unless he gets bored or runs out of cash. It's highly unlikely he'll run out of cash, isn't it.

Maybe his good old buddy Steven Spielberg?

I don't know any other director that is so 'close' to George as he is. Perhaps he understands how his mind works?

I can think of a lot of reasons. Hundreds of millions of reasons. But I sincerely hope he hands the franchise off to younger, more talented directors.

She's a senator and former 'Queen' - she knows a little more about his motivation and grief. Frankly, I think they deserved to die. I wonder if they were put up to it by someone else.

I'm pretty sure that Lucas decided that Episodes VII-IX weren't going to happen back at the beginning of the 90's when he authorized the release of the Star Wars novels, beginning with Heir To The Empire. While Lucas basically has the right to tell any story he wants to about the SW Universe, it would be pretty dumb for Lucasfilm to approve all of these post-ROTJ stories if Lucas eventually planned to make those later films and possibly contradict all the novels.
