I hope they put more of the action in space... in Episode II, the only space battle is the short chase with Jango and Obi Wan. The rest takes place on amazing planets - but I just felt there was a piece missing.

Of course, this was the budget thing too... battles in space have got to be a lot cheaper (and feasible) back then, they couldn't do the Battle of Genosia in the early 1980's.. But this is STAR Wars, not Planet Wars.

What other way can Anakin track down and destory the Jedi? He can't wipe them all out face to face, he's got to get them where they are more vulnerable - blowing up their transports, or fighter to fighter.

Lucas knows that Episode III isn't going to turn the profit that I or II did (or he speculates, at least) - so perhaps this is the natural progression for toning down the budget a little. NO! you cry, but it's just cheaper to do things in space and it can be just as impressive... and it was these that made IV-VI so great.

I forsee bigass space battles in Episode III... as well as a fair splattering of on-land (and on-deck) action, of course.

Well, to tie it in with 'Empire' (Note the end of the both had a couple standing there with C3PO & R2), there was only one battle in Empire, too, also a chase through an asteroid field.
