Hey there, fellow Star Wars fans,

I just wanna say that I really enjoyed EP2. My favorite parts were the scenes with Jango Fet. In EP5 and EP6, he didn't make an impression on me. But in EP2, he showed us he is really a good (maybe the best) bounty hunter in the whole galaxy.

But that's not the point for my post...

What I am trying to say is that EP3 whill be the most difficult episiode to complete. Every missing part, every mystery needs to be explained.

Like: - Why didn't Uncle Owen and Beru didn't reconised the droids in EP4. They saw them in EP2. - And the above statement vice versa? - Why did Obi Wan and Yoda disappear when they died? Why didn't Gui Gon Jin? - Why did it seem that Luke was the only jedi in Ep4-6. In EP2 there seemed to be plenty. - When did the empire stops using robots and start using stormtroopers? - ...

You must be referring to Boba Fett...

Lucas has said the Ep3 will tie up alot of loose ends...

Maybe, due to the fact that in ANH, the droids never said their official designation ie 'I am...' bla bla, and also they're alot of astrometric and protocol droids in the universe, seeing a couple 20 years ago, doesnt mean your gonna remember them 20 years in advance.

Possible memory wipes, at the mo it seems the most plausible answer

Jin?

Good question, consult the FAQ (Its what its there for)

Cos they was all wiped out, by the Sith.

Overall, most questions can be answered in the FAQ. Try to use it rather than asking questions repeated before..

When I first saw Ep II, this was the biggest issue for me afterwards (which has nothing to do with the actual Ep II movie, nor my enjoyment of it). Since we know what still has to happen, and that there is only 1 more movie, it does feel that we have not covered enough ground in the first two movies. And that leads back to the discussion of if Ep I started too far back in time, since there are only Ep II and III to show the actual rise of the Empire (yes, Ep I showed Palpatine becoming Chancellor, but was it a necessity? Would we have been content to start at Ep II with him already Chancellor, just assuming that he got there thru normal political means? After all, we don't know how he got to be Senator in the first place)

We know that Anakin is seduced by the dark side, and then he hunts down and destroys the Jedi. Both of these events seem to be enough material for an episode on their own.

Will we appreciate Anakin's tortured soul if he converts within just the first hour of Ep III? Or will it be so rushed that he looks like an idiot for not catching one to Palpatine's motives? ('Thanks for giving me a lift to the Senate House. Say, have you ever thought that the dark side just has a bad rap for no reason?'.

I feel that the majority of Ep III must deal with Anakin's conversion to the dark side. But then that leaves very little time to wipe out the Jedi. While I can see a duel at the end between Obi-Wan and Anakin, which results in Anakin being injured and having to wear the mask, a massive fight right after he turns evil where Anakin kills the 10-20 (however many are left) Jedi seems too easy.

I begin to wonder if at the end of Ep III, the last scene is of Anakin now wearing the Vader-outfit, and the hunting and killing of the Jedi is something not shown, left to occur between Ep III and IV (which, in viewing all 6 movies, would seem like a major item to have occur off-screen).

Not to mention that 3PO has changed color - and Owen/Peru only saw R2D2 for a short while.

Yeah - maybe because Padme wanted to keep Luke and Leia a secret and diden't want anyone to go throug the droids memory. But I don't think R2D2 have his memory wiped. 3PO says in Ep4 when they just landed, somthing like 'How do you know wich way to go' to R2D2... maybe the little guy remember his old visit?

Both Obi Wan and Yoda had prepared themself to die and was united with the force (or something). Also, I think it's a rather new 'trick' Yoda & Co. begins to learn in Ep3.

Many of them died in the arena ... and the rest proably die in Ep3.

As the creators of the clones says - the Clones are more intelligent, they can work more independent than the driods. Just look what happend, when they blew up the 'main ship' in Ep1 ! Evey robot stopped.

Thats right!

Jango wasn't in EP5 and 6. That was Boba.

Okay, it's been twenty years, you've seen common everyday droids your whole life... It's kinda like you or I recognizing a dog we saw once twenty years ago.

Droids can be reprogrammed...

I think we'll find out about this in the next movie.

Uh, in the current movie.... Besides, most of those robots we saw in the first movie weren't the Republic's (Empire's); they were the Trade

Me too. I wasn't expecting something that good, and I was expecting something very good anyway...

Of course, there was no Jango Fett in EP5/6, only Boba Fett.

I'm not sure *all* misteries will be explained. If I was GL, and reading this ng, my hair would stand up - gosh, how can I make all those incoherences fit into a realistic plot?

Read the messages in this ng, these are only a few of them. For some of them there can be good reasons, e.g., memory being wiped off from droids. (And I think R2D2 behaves as if he knows Tatooine somehow in ANH).

BTW, Luke was not the only jedi in Ep4-6, I think Obi and Yoda count, too. Obviously the Jedi order will be severely hunted down in EPIII, and the survivors will turn into refugees (notice that both Obi and Yoda are actually hermits living in most desolate planetes in EP4-6...)

Also, the first *empire* army we've seen is in ANH, and it comprises both troopers and droids (e.g., the probe landing on Tatooine). Proper droid soldiers only appear in PM, and they're not the empire's... they are actually of the Trade Federation, which in AOTC unexpectedly appears not to be the empire's origin (as we could have guessed), but the (fake) enemy of the empire's origin (the Republic itself!)

That final scene where we see the empire's battleships being loaded with troopers... is simply goosebumps!!! Isn't it...

There actually was another flying 'battle' (i.e., armed) droid, at least, in the beginning of ESB (the probe). I wonder how come the empire never uses battle droids en masse, as the Trade Federation does. Are clones cheaper?

Also on that note: are OT's stormtroopers still clones? I don't think so. In fact, when Luke saves Leia in Death Star's dungeons, he removes his helmet, and her reaction isn't: 'hey, you don't look like Fett! So who are you...?', she simply says that Luke looks too young to be a trooper...

I don't think so, but they said: 'you'll find clones immensely superior to droids' as 'droids can't think for themselves' which I think we'll see in Ep 3.

not quite, she says he's too short to be a stormtrooper, but that's before he removes his helmet.

The droids have failed twice, and a major production facity has basicly been ruined.

If I was a military planer in that universe I use both. The droids would be used as an expendable first wave to thow against the enemy line. The organic troops would be the second and finial wave going in after the enemy has been softend up alittle.
