'web.tampabay.rr.com/sticke' : I don't doubt that EP3 will be the last of the SW franchise - but... If EP2 : & 3 are extremely successful, who's to say George won't decide to go ahead : with another trilogy. Just because he says he won't do it, doesn't mean he : doesn't have it written.

: He had it written from the beginning, then broke it up into pieces.

That's part of the Star Wars Myth. He didn't have 18hrs of movie written. He barely had Star Wars I, which people insist on calling by its lame new title 'A new hope.' Read up on this. It's another example of Lucas stretching the truth.

: If it does happen down the road, I certainly hope he will hand off the : writing and production/direction to other folks, and just cash the checks. : : Thoughts ?

I sincerely hope he does. If this is the best he can do, he needs to let other people write and direct his movies from now on.

I don't think George Lucas ever claimed to have '18hrs of movie written'. As far as I know he's only ever said he's got the story outline in his mind and fills it out as he writes the script for each Episode.

Georege Lucas' storyline for Episodes VII, VIII and IX were squashed/altered into Episodes V, and VI, so there is no storyline for more sequels. IF any more sequels were to be made, then a new storyline would have to be written - BUT he has repeatedly said he won't be making them.
