Dollhouse Coming Soon

This is the trailer of Doll House, an upcoming Fox release (TV series of course) that will be aired sometime in 2009.

In Dollhouse, Eliza Dushku, the series star will play a young woman named Echo who along with the other residents of the dollhouse are know as Actives or Dolls.
The Dolls have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with other persona’s, including memory, muscle memory skills language and so on for different assignments. They can be hired out for anything from crimes though sexual fantasies you name it, and while on missions they are monitored internally and remotely by handlers.
In beween tasks their mind is wiped clean and they regress into a child like state and live in a Dorm called the Dollhouse.
The Story follows Echo, who in her mind-wiped state starte becoming self aware.
The show will also tell the stories of the people who run the dollhouse. Although the Actives are supposedly volunteers, the operation is highly illegal and under constant threat by Paul Ballard a federal agent who is working on rumors alone.

Sounds like it could be a great show, raising all sorts of questions about free will and so on.

Sci Fi Scanner says that Fox is obviously concerned about this show. I couldn’t find out why…
