Ok, heres the deal
I have never seen a full star wars movie in my life!!! i know, its bad, but could someone please give me a list of the order in which I should watch the movies as I am really confussed as to how many there are and where they all fit together. Also, are the new film just refilmed versions of the old one and how many star wars films are there actually in existense?
Yours hopefully

5 films have been produced so far, the orginial trilogy (in order) was Star Wars;A New Hope (or just Star Wars), Star Wars; The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars; Return of the Jedi. These films should be viewed in that order.
The new films are pre-qual, they are about events that happen before Star Wars; A New Hope. The first film in this trilogy was the 1999 Star Wars; The Phatom Mence, the second is Star wars Attack of the Clones which is currently in theators. And the third film will be released in 2005.
If you really have no clue has to what happen in the first set of films, you might want to watch the news ones, and wait till the finial pre-qualhas been released before view the other films. If you do this, best stay away from news groups like this, and stray star wars geeks.
Even if you do not want to wait 3 years to view the orgnial trilogy, I'd still advice watching the prequal first..
