Ok, I read the book, I went and saw the film, I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT!!!!!

I know people like Venger on this group are trying to put the brakes on anyone actually gettin excited about AOTC's, I read the book, good book, hints at a lot of things the fans have been crying out for ages about.

Went and saw the movie, and my god what a piece of art!! Its amazing, the arena battle with the Jedi and the Droids has gotta be one of the greatest scenes in movie history, and what an adrenaline buzz it gives you to watch it!

I know many of the so-called critics who say they are Star Wars fans on this newsgroup are gonna pigeonhole everyone who likes Attack of the Clones as being either a worker of Lucasfilm, or a complete and utter fanboy Star Wars obsessive, but this wouldnt be truthful.

The Phantom Menace may not have been the masterpiece that A New Hope was, but who'd expect it to be? It was the very start of the rise of the Sith, everything is hidden in the background waiting to happen, it isnt A New Hope where we have the Evil Empire trying to tighten its grip on the universe, its a universe of peace where nothing much happens.... To end with a battle between a Sith apprentice and a Jedi Padawan sums it all up, the SW universe is still young at this point, but action is on its way.

Ok Jar Jar was annoying, but Lucas was trying to pull in the under 11 audiences as well as the old hands who've been watching since the start. Lets be honest, some kids arent gonna get what the hell is going on with the force, but as far as were concerned, if there is a Jedi in the movie then we're happy... Kids should be allowed to watch this thing, its a basic storytelling concept of heroes and bad guys in TPM.

Then we get to AOTC's, and its changed completely, theres a lot of grey areas between the heroes and villains, and there's actually a political system that your interested in learning more about. The Fans cried out against Jar Jar, he gets about two scenes and the same amount of lines, by by Jar Jar, good riddance to bantha poodoo.

There is the odd annoying part, which the hyper crytical critics will expand upon and turn into an argument about the acting, stuff like Anakin always answering Obi Wan 'Yes Master', but if your a true SW's fan you undertsand that this is the frustration of Anakins character. Then theres the temptation scene, Portman wearing tight black leather lookin outfits - We always wondered where Vader got his dress sense from!

The whole chase scene is nothing like the one in the fifth element, obviously you guys who are saying that are watching either a different movie, or a bad quality bootleg, the coruscant chase scene kicks the 5th elements butt on its own, never mind all the other great aspects of the movie.

Then there's Obi Wan off on 'some adventure', great, brilliant, always how I'd imagined Kenobi ever since I saw A New Hope, wise and strong in the force, but still rather brash and eager.

Jango Fett....Well what can I really say....I dunno...Maybe duck next time?

And then we get to the greatest character in the whole movie, yeah you got it, the most powerful little green guy in the Universe, Master Yoda. When I first saw the CGI I found it rather irritating, I wanted the puppet back, but throughout the film you start noticing that this Yoda has completely new facial expressions that the old puppet couldnt pull off. I know the naysayers will mock yoda's battle, sayin how can a guy with a walking stick and a limp move as quick as he did......heres the answer naysayers, its called the Force!

'And a powerful ally it is!'

All in all, its amazing, go see it, its beautiful, they should show it in film schools and say, 'This is how great a movie should be!'

As far as the anti-Star Wars anti-Attack of the Clones establishment go, I'll let the immortal words of Master Yoda describe you.....

'The Darkside I sense in You!'

Yes the movie was good. And, they should show your post in cheerleader school to say this is how to support Lucas in every way you can!
