Count Dooku and Anakin- spoilers!!!!!!!

OK, for anyone who has seen AOTC, there is no doubt Dooku's skills are awesome. Anakin's skills don't impress me at all, at least at this stage in his life. So, the big question is why in the world would Sidious wanna replace Dooku with Anakin? It's kinda like replacing Bruce Lee with Ralph Macchio from The Karate Kid.

My only guess is that Dooku is 80 and won't be around much longer while Anakin is only 19.

Hi.. well correct me if I'm wrong..but I don't think Dooku is an apprentice of Sidious.. cos he is called a Lord in ATOC..It seems to me that they are more of equals..So to me its not a matter of replacing Dooku, but more of a matter of injecting new blood into the Dark side..so to speak..

..I feel the good in Dooku - he can be turned..

Split personanilty thing - Palpatine doesn't go by 'Sideous' in the Chancellor's chambers. Count Dooku is the character's 'normal' life. His secret life is as Darth Tyrannus, Darth Sideous' apprentice.

What I'm interested in seeing is for Anakin to do the same thing, to start of as Darth Vader before the lava pit makes the mask neccessary.

Well, if Dooku gets killed in ep.3, which I believe he will, the spot for Sidious apprentice will be open.

Nope...I don't think so. If u remember from TPM...Yoda mentioned that the Sith has a master and an apprentice...no more, no less. If Sidious and Dooku were equals, then there would be 2 masters. But then again, Yoda himself said, 'The dark side clouds everything', so he may be wrong.

Also, I did notice that Dooku has the same powers and the Emperor in ROTJ - both of them have electrocution powers! Vader himself didn't even have that power! Hmm...

Count Dooku is old, Anakin is young. While Dooku is probably some sort of partner (anything else would be silly considering he and Palpatine both aren't young), Anakin will be a willful student. Also, there's stiill Anakin's mid-count... and the fact that he's still inside the Jedi-network, which makes him very useful.

Anakin is still developing. He'll get that much better by Ep III.
