I read a summary of one of the Black Fleet Crisis books. It said that Luke went to his mothers homeworld. How did he find out that that's the right planet?

Luke was told that his mother was called Nashira, and she lived on J't'p'tan, a member of the Fallanassi, users of the White Current (a part of the Force). Naboo isn't mentioned in books prior to TPM's release.

The entire luke and his mum theme in Black Fleet ruined an otherwise decent expansion series. Its incredible how after RoTJ showed an imperial fleet numbering in the hundreds of star destroyers, several EU authors have attempted to make piddly 4 star destroyer fleets look like a deadly threat to the NR.

Only the BF, Zahns trio and the X-Wing series have gone anywhere near successfuly describing the fleet warfare portion of SW. The rest of the books are twaddle and rubbish. KJ Anderson should be beaten near to death twice a week on general principle

Although all this turned out to be a shaggy dog story spun by the Ffaallaannaassii (I don't know where the double letters go so I thought I cover myself). Which doesn't raise the status of the Black Fleet Crisis to anywhere above 'steaming pile of cow dung... figuratively speaking.'

I don't recall that book stating that he went to his mother's homeplanet. I do remember that he went there and that it was described as a planet that was, from my interpretation, still rebuiding itself from some major catastrophic event. I forget why he even went there in the first place.

Yes it is Nick. It was mentioned briefly, like a cameo appearance, in a couple of them I think. But I don't remember which book<s> it was referenced in. I remember it clearly because when I saw Ep I and the Queen's planet was named Naboo, I remember thinking that Lucas would use some EU materials in his movies

Oh well, if I've read that book, I don't remember it. I think it would be good if GL used a lot more EU cameo appearances, just references to other planets, such as Obroa-Skai or Rodia or Gamorr, or Ryloth. Like he did in the OT with Sullust, Kessel, Ord Mantell, and the like.

Yes, I agree. I'd like to see that as well, if not actually see those planets themselves. But I suppose it is easier to just use the same old planets as the templates are already there and ready to go for filming.

Just a mention would do fine. The Holiday Special rather spoiled my impression of Kashyyk. I imagined it to be a lot darker, with the wroshr trees interweaving and forming platforms. The one in the HS looked far too much like Endor, as wel as a cartoon. I was pleased not to see GL's name on the credits anywhere. Not even a 'thanks to' though. That was a bit harsh.

I can't believe I watched 1:30 hrs of that crap. Oh well, at least my life is enriched with the relief of comparison or whatever was said on the Life on Tatooine scene.
