As it's been said before....Vader killed all the Jedi except Yoda and Obi-Wan. 2 Sith, 2 Jedi. When Obi-Wan died, Luke took his place.

Re:Balance Of the Force - Stupid Concept
When are people going to realize that the prophecy is not about Anakin, but about Luke? I think that's the whole point! I think by the end of Episode III, we will realize this and find that we like Luke a lot better and respect what he had to go through. He will triumph where his Father failed.

Re:Balance Of the Force - Stupid Concept
You know, I've always thought that... Well, at least since this whole prophecy thing was introduced. But then, I seem to believe things that are counter to a lot of other SW fans...Like that whole '2 Sith' thing. The way I interpreted the comments from TPM, it meant that if you see 1 Sith, be careful, because they always work in pairs, not that there were only 2 at any given time.

I think it was Yoda that spoke the warning. Anyone have a transcript from TPM?

Except that GL has said in an interview the Anakin *is* the Chosen One. It's been suggested that 'bringing balance to the Force' means eliminating the Sith, who destroy life and thus create an 'imbalance' in the Force (which is created, as we all know, by 'all life'.

The Jedi interpret the prophecy wrong. In their view there's no way the Jedi would ever be wiped out. It's totally inconceivable to them. So they don't realize that the balance prophecy means that they get wiped out. They think it means something else.

Re:Balance Of the Force - Stupid Concept
The whole balance concept is a confusing one, but the most important thing thats comes to mind is Qui Gon Jinns little speach about 'The Will of the Force'.

Now in my opinion the force is neither good or bad....

When the Republic is in its prime the Jedi are spread throughout the galaxy basically sapping all the strength out of the force that they can possibly get there hands on, there are only two sith always at work, so the Force at this moment in time seems to favor the Darkside because the Jedi seem to be abusing the nature of the force with there idea of having Jedi Schools and massive amounts of Jedi around the Universe.

Vader hunts down and kills all but two of the Jedi, then the Jedi and Sith are finally back on equal ground, but the Emperor has got his 'Im going to rule the entire Universe' attitude on and the force sways over to the goodside. But for it to stay this way Obi Wan has to take the fall....Think about it, Luke is much more intune with the force from his heredetry, Yoda is the greatest Jedi ever to live, so Obi Wan figures hes the obvious candidate to die to keep the balance of 2 good guys 2 bad guys.

Then Anakin finally brings balance when there are 2 sith versus one Jedi, when he throws old Palpy over the rails, and dies himself.

Balance i'd say is a stupid term for it, balance is what the Jedi Order would call it, where as those more independant Jedi would say that following the will of the force is much more important than thinking about righting the disturbances caused by other Sith/Jedi, Yoda and Obi Wan seem to learn this in the long run.

Re:Balance Of the Force - Stupid Concept
No one Jedi - Luke, then you have the New Jedi Order, but there turns out to be as many Dark Jedi as Light. The thing that causes unbalance is the attempts by both the Sith and the Jedi to impose there rule on the Universe, the unbalance isnt because of the Sith showing up. The Jedi are keepers of the peace, they push their law onto every star system in the republic, the Sith want to rule and push there Imperial law onto the universe. Dark Jedi are different to Sith because they do not have the lust for power, just think about it Anakin/Vader has just started lusting for power in AOTC's, Palpatine has always lusted for power, Yoda and Mace have basically been all powerful in the Republics prime..... Then compare it to Yoda and Obi Wan in ANH, they do not feel the need for any position of power, they are not high respected figures in the Rebel Alliance, they are secluded, not just to hide from Vader, but because they have discovered the true nature of the force. The true will of the Force.

Qui Gon says in TPM that when Anakin learns to quiet his mind, the midichlorians in his body will tell him 'The will of the Force' so it seems Mr Lucas disagrees with you.

As for the Force being inherantly good, I seriously hope not, the whole Yin/Yang aspect of the Force is one of the best parts of it, but why would something inherantly good have a 'Darkside'?
