AOTC Theory (Spoiler)

. . .. . . . . . . OK, what do you guys think about this.. I think it was Plapatine who 'goaded' the Tuskens into taking and torturing Anakin's mother. From all I have read about the Tuskens, they do not take prisoners. Their goal being to drive out the settlers. They do not speak English and have no other goals so what is the point of torturing her? I think Palpatine put them up to it. We know he manipulates everything, example in ROTJ when we find out he let the rebels know the location of the shield generator. He also separates Ani from Obi, that way Obi can not stop him from doing what he does. I also wonder, since we know that Palpatine is clouding the Jed 'vision' could he also be projecting what he wants them to see? Twisting the Force and the insight it provides so that they are not only blind, but working with altered data?

One other thing, and this is a stretch. Shmi could have been kept alive by Palpatine just long enough for Anakin to get there, after he arrives Palatine lets her die...

well, paply was definately playing match maker... 'hm, who could we get to protect padme ... ooh hows about obi-wan and anakin!'

he definately manipulates jar jar .. 'ohhh if only padme was here.. SHE would vote for emergency powers.. -sigh- oh well'

what i want to know about is ... it seemed to me that ani and paply were already in cahoots.. something along the lines of 'thanks to your guidance' ?

i dunno.. it seemed to me she was hanging on until anakin got there .. i mean, one of her last lines is 'i'm complete now' ..

Thing is, if Anakin ever got wind of any of this, he'd go after the Emperor...
