Decided to see AOTC for the second time, this time concentrating on those things I missed first time round... Ahmed Best and Anthony Daniels were the easiest. I'm not convinced by the ILM and 1138 though on Geonasis.

However, I did pick up on some 'unsaid' and VERY clear references/facial expressions... when Mace appears on Geonasis, there is definitiely something between Dooku and himself because when he kills Jango they both realise they have just ended their pure source of 'clones'... ooops did I give the game away with that?

Dooku seems surprised that the republic could amass such an army so quickly at the end of the film, so Sifo-Dyas is definitely not Dooku (imposter).

To pull all this together, I believe Mace is the Jedi who deletes the records in the archive, as the timing is correct. I can't figure out whether he is a dark Jedi, a good Jedi being manipulated by Dooku, or just a bad apple.

I paid a lot more attention to the script as well... Dooku was Yodas Padawan. Qui-Gon was Dookus Padawan, but the appeared to be a lot closer than we are lead to believe?

Maybe this is implied in what you said, but who ordered the clones? The best explanation I came up with was Dooku was Sifo-Dyas and he ordered the clone army. So are all the clones made from Jango Fett? I suppose that would explain why he was on that planet, which was another of my questions. Does anyone remember when they said Jango had a identical clone? How do we know that was the 'real' Jango that died and not the clone?

Dooku is clearly *acting* surprised in front of the seperatists - he's taking them all for a ride! The only reason the seperatists are massed by Dooku is so that his master gets his clone army. Thats why Dooku and Sidious win - the entire thing was an attempt to elevate Palpatine to the next level of power. And it worked!

Yes, but it's amazing how this simple plot device is completely over the heads of most people in this newsgroup.

If you remember (I can't) Jengo mentioned a name completely different from Sifodias. Being from some third moon somewhere. I am also pretty sure Lord Sidious called Dooku by this name at the end of AOTC. I could be wrong... Any suggestions?

Boba Fett is definitely the 'unaltered' clone of Jengo. Since Jengo requested a clone with no growth enhancers, it would be impossible that there would be an unaltered clone old enough to take his place as suggested in another thread.

Most of the AOTC/SW questions are due to fans looking too deep for answers. If you think about things from the view point of Occam's Razor then you'll see the simpliest solution is probably the correct one. Any one of use can come up with bizarre combinations of deep plots giving strange origins to Sypho-Dias, Mace Windu, Anakin, Palpatine, Jango Fett, etc.

Simple: Mace Windu is a good guy Palpatine = Darth Sidious (they are not clones) Jango Fett's unaltered clone = Boba Fett

And does it really matter who ordered the clones? Palpatine's manipulations in TPM and AOTC demonstrate that they are playing both sides to cause a collapse of the republic creating a dictatorship. Palpatine either ordered the clones made or manipulated someone to make them.

I'm sure if someone thought about it long enough, they could think of some very complicated plot making Yoda the ultimate bad guy setting everything up so the Sith could rule for eternity. All I'm saying is that creating these strange plot-tangents and overly-complicated storylines is redundant since no one will know the absolute truth until GL says it himself or Episode III brings more to the spotlight.

Also there's the radical, subversively hidden fact that Jango calls his kid/clone 'Boba'. I'm puzzled by why so many people missed that.......
