Once again......why are people pitting Stars Wars vs. Spiderman? I loved both movies and I see no reason for some lame Internet competition.

Spiderman hasn't even opened yet here in the UK.

I'm looking forward to seeing it but not as much as I was AOTC which was incredible, IMO.

I hope Spiderman is great too - I won't be upset at getting see 2 great films instead of 1.

AOTC also played in 500 less theaters than Spidey.

Opening weekend, AOTC per-theater average was $27,284......Spidey average was $20,783 per theater.

AOTC wins.....

However, you forgot to mention that Spider-Man had 454 more screens showing it than what Ep2 has.

I'd like to see the GROSS PER SCREEN comparison for the first 3 days and see what the difference is then.

Where did you get those Spider-Man facts? Spider-Man made 114.844M on 3615 screens opening weekend, which comes out to be $31,768 per screen. Whereas, Ep2 made 80.027M on 3161 screens opening weekend (Fri., Sat., Sun), which comes out to be $25,317 per screen. My question is 'what did Ep2 gross through Saturday and not counting Sunday's take?' That would be the real

Isn't EP2 also 30 minutes longer than SM?

The only thing better about Spiderman than AOTC is that Kirsten Dunce had a wet t-shirt scene where her titties were nicely displayed, altough Portman's breasteses were nice too!

Other than that Spidey was so-so.

WHo gives a rats ass about opening weekend really, the real proof will be when both are out of the theaters for good, who made the most.

And who really gives a damn?

Not to mention that Spidey had no competition and Star Wars-AOTC had Spidey to contend with. I liked both movies, tho. Until AOTC, I thought Spidey was the most entertaining movie I'd seen in a long time. But I've already seen AOTC twice and Spidey only once.
