It signifies the fact that the Republic exists in name only. Palpatine has been given his emergency powers basically giving him the ability to do anything he wants and giving him command of the largest army ever assembled anywhere in the galaxy. The Empire was born in AOTC but few of the characters, except for maybe Yoda and possibly Bail Organa, realize it.

They should have made the clone army much larger. The 200,00 units ready and 1 million more on the way wouldn't even be enough to fight the first world

I caught that too. The allies put about 1 mill men on Normanday within the first week. Locas being a good liberial has no concept of how a real military works. In the SE they will have to dub in 1 billion units on the way. That would still barely be adiquit.

Heh, no. We know that promise won't be kept. Obviously the other members of the Senate at some point would demand he release the power, but by then he'll have the military industrial complex in full swing and they'll be loyal to him and it will be too late...
