AOTC great SW film, Lucas redeems himself

This movie rocked. I was into it from the beginning to the very end and the audience erupted in applause as the closing credits started. The only unintended laughter was when it looked like Anakin was getting a BJ. Padme jumping up after falling out of the transport was the only real groan inducing scene that gave me flashbacks to TPM, but there was no reaction from the audience to that scene. Other than that, good story, great action sequences, of course great FX, cool characters instead of the stupid cartoon characters from TPM, and it was nice to hear some music from the OT, especially the Imperial March at the end. Williams's new love theme is great and fits perfectly with the rest of the great Star Wars themes. A few bad lines hear and there but overall the acting and dialogue was vastly improved. This film is in the same class as the OT and leaves TPM as the only red-headed step child of the saga. I don't know where I would rank AOTC, probably above ROTJ but slightly behind ANH and ESB. Maybe 10 years after episode 3, it may rise or fall, but more likely Lucas will tie it all together very well in Episode 3 and we will just see it as one giant space saga with a cheesy opening chapter.

If Jar Jar had been the one who got blown up in the opening instead of Padme's double, I'd give it equal billing to ROTJ.

Can you believe Lucas had that clumsy excuse of a character being the one that grants Palpatine the right to have executive privilage? I would have preferred Natalie Portman, but she was on Tattoine at the time...think of it, folks...Jar Jar Binks is the catalyst for the EMPIRE...without his single vote, Palpatine couldn't have pulled of the deception...Somehow, I find that hard to swallow that Jar Jar's primary significance is voting for Palpatine to eventually create the empire...Now I will not look at the grand fleet of star destroyers the same way...they owe their existance to a computer animated frog.
