Gonna go and see AOTC tomorrow. (Yeah, I know I'm late.) Anyway, do we get to see any glimpses of Alderaan in Ep. II. If not, what about Ep. III? I've always wondered what the planet was like, since all we saw of it was its destruction in ANH, the original movie.

BTW, I was watching an episode of 'Star Trek: TNG' today (rerun) and noticed in the credits that Lucasfilm is responsible for the effects (probably for many films). With all of the hoopla between fans about which one is better (I like both by the way), I just got a chuckle that either way it goes, Lucas always wins, lol.

Well 1) ILM does a great job w/special effects 2) I adire Lucas for not only being a good businessman, but for putting out a lot of good product (at least at ILM and LucasArts, which produced a lot of really good games) 3) HOWEVER I think that Lucas is not a good story teller, and is hence a poor film maker.

50,000 republic credits say your wrong.

Heck, I can't do it. It's too easy.

Aleraan has already been established as an other planet. In ep 1 Paply refferences to Senator Bail-somrthing from Aldernaan as a rivial canidate for Chancelor.

Why exactly are you posting to a Star Wars newsgroup if you feel this way?

Star Wars is Lucas's most famous/popular story.

That sort of comment smacks of tall poppy syndrome.

Lucas is not the best story teller in the world, but to suggest that someone who has kept viewers enthralled for a number of generations, has infiltrated the common mythology of everyday life (who doesn't know what you mean if you call them Yoda or Chewbacca, for example?), has created characters and situations that kids reenact over again, etc. is not a good storyteller is just plain stupid.

I'll bet against you, since Naboo and Alderaan both have representatives in the Senate it's a pretty safe bet that it won't.
