A funny edit they could make for the Super Special ANH

After Luke and Han knock out the two Stormtroopers, we can see them just after being stripped and they are both Jango Fett's.

Incidently, Han Solo is considerably taller than Jango, and Luke is significantly shorter, so not only could they probably not even fit into the suits, but wouldn't the other troopers notice immediately?

They are genetically not disposed to notice things like that - they get on with the job, full stop.

The Stormtroopers in ANH are probably not clones. I could see the Alliance setting out to eliminate the Kamino cloning operation, although that would defy the canonicity of the ANH opening crawl '... have won their first victory ...'. In any case, the two troopers who fail to notice Obi-Wan at the Tractor Beam power controls display plenty of individuality - they converse, and seem unimpressed with their sentry duty: 'Maybe it's just another drill.' Later, after the trench-swinging scene, we see a squad doing the double-time and hear an intercom voice saying 'We think they may be splitting up, they may be on levels 5 and 6 now, Herb.' (or Bert, or something) ... clonetroopers would not have names IMHO. Just operating numbers.

Anyway, I agree - I think the storm troopers in the original trilogy are recruits and/or draftees.

I dunno - why couldn't the Empire could have a mininum height regulation for stormtrooper recruits?

The height thing is in fact an issue in ANH. Nobody notices except Leia, who spots Luke's height immediately.

They would have to be:

1. they have different voices

2. they are not all the same size (though it appears that there is a minimum, see Leia's comment to Luke)

3. they are such execrable, shockingly bad shots that if they are clones then the Empire must have searched out the most unco-ordinated, physically challenged, clumsy doofuss in the Galaxy to clone - and why would they?

Plenty of them - most of the ones with breasts are short.

Oh, were you serious? If so, sorry. It's just that when you say 'no logical reason' you are eliminating *any* other possibilities, and invoking logic to help you do so, so it's quite an extraordinary claim. Thus you must be expected to have made an extraordinary effort to analyze the situation...

Your statement is entirely incorrect, because I can offer a counter-hypothesis: perhaps there is a minimum height requirement for storm troopers, as opposed to them all being the same exact height. Many organizations have this. I know someone that wasn't allowed to become a Warrant Officer in the Marine Corps. because he didn't meet the height requirement.

Next time you invoke logic to support your case, you may want to try first using it.

Perhaps it's the same peole who played baddies in The A-Team...
