I've only seen AOTC 3 times, I'll probably watch it at least once more. Sadly, I think I may be getting too old to get a thrill out of seeing a movie more than single digits. I did see LOTR 6 times and wanted to see it one more time before it left, but I missed the chance. Seeing Brett's sig. reminds me of my younger days, I can still remember when SW first came out, I was around 13 at the time (I'm an old fart now) and at the time it was the most awesome movie ever made, especially, the special effects. I watched it an even 20 times (separate, paid for showings). That's just original release first run theatre, not counting the re-release of the new editions. The rest of the episodes, between 3 and 8 times. So any other old farts who were old enough to see it in 77' How many times did you watch it? How about the rest of the episodes? Those that are younger, was the rerelease the first time you saw it? How many times?

I was only 3 when SW came out so never saw it at the cinema - I saw ESB once and ROTJ once at the cinema. I saw both at an age where I was taken to the cinema and didn't have money to go multiple times myself. I saw TPM 4 times at the cinema and have seen AOTC 4 times so far.

Oh c'mon. 38 isn't that old. Theatre viewings only.

ANH(1977) once ESB(1980) once ROTJ(1983) seven ESB(rerelease) once TPM five AOTC five

LOTR once(is more than enuff)

People generally don't go for repeat viewings at the theatre anymore coz of the ubiquitous pirated copies floating around. It does make a difference.

'none'

I saw the original SW twice in the cinema, once in 1977 and once in 1979. Again, once only for ESB and ROTJ. However, I've seen them on video so many times I've lost count. I only saw the SEs at the cinema once, and attendances were really poor... such that there was only me at the first screening of ROTJ! I've seen TPM twice in the cinema, would have seen it more, but was more impressed by Star Trek and Matrix. When I found out it was being released on video within 6 months I decided to cancelled my third visit. I've seen AOTC twice in the cinema, and am due to go for a third time

You may be an old fart but that's not a reason for not watching a film more than once. Cost is the reason for not going to the cinema more than once. But once it's released on dvd/vid then there's no excuse. I've only see each SW film once at the cinema, but 100s of times at home.

I saw Star Wars (it wasn't yet called 'A New Hope' the day it opened in our local theater, which was brand new. I was ten years old, and went with my best friend, who was a year older. They opened the doors at 10:30 that morning, and I was one of the first people into the new theater. For the life of me, I can't remember what the other movie was, but I think it was Jaws or something. I remember that it seemed like the entire population of North Central Texas was in line outside that building, though

That was in June of 1977, and I went back to see the movie a total of 26 times during it's original 'Held over for the 7th(maybe 9th?) week' run.

First run on all of these... Star Wars:26 Empire: 12 ROTJ: 20 TPM: 2 AOTC: 1 so far (I plan to see it again, though)

I estimate having seen Episode IV at least 300 times on video, TV, and in dollar theaters and stuff. About 100 for Empire, and just over 250 for ROTJ.

I have TPM on Video, and have watched it maybe 15 times.

I saw the Special Edition original trilogy on the nights they were released, but I went after 11:00 PM, to avoid the crowds, and hordes of screaming kids. Now I have my own horde of screaming kids (four, ages 12, 11, 6, and 2) so we went to the 11:00 AM show of AOTC.
